Additional GPC Outreach
Hamilton Heights Backpack Program
In 2017, Grand Point Church was approached by Hamilton Heights Elementary School to partner in assisting with the weekend nutritional needs of their students. Access to assisted school program meals is not available during non-school days, and there were some students who may not qualify for free/reduced lunches but needed nutritional support. This partnership, known as the Hamilton Height’s Backpack Program, was formed to address the growing concerns for food insecurity among students and their families.
Initially, we provided weekend nutrition for 20 students. Today, we serve 39 students at this elementary school.
The Backpack Program provides eligible students with two breakfasts, two lunches, two snacks, two fruits/vegetables, and two drinks over the weekends when access to other nutrition programs are not available. The GPC – Chambersburg Youth pack these lunches each week as part of their community service work.
As part of our desire to assist the students and families at Hamilton Heights, we have also provided Thanksgiving meals, Christmas gifts, and Easter meals.
How can you help with this outreach?
We try to keep enough food supplies on hand so that each student’s bag is the same. Below are the items that we pack in these bags. We will gratefully accept donations of these items (delivered to our GPC-Chambersburg campus) or financial donations toward the purchase of these items.

12:24
As we prayerfully dream about where God may be leading Grand Point Church, the 12:24 Vision has captured the hearts of our staff, elders, and other key leaders. It is a bold, audacious, and challenging vision that is pulling us to consider what it would look like for our church to multiply itself over and over again through a variety of methods. It is more than simply a church planting strategy; it is a long-term gospel multiplication strategy that will require total commitment and sacrifice… just like seeds. As God leads and enables us, we will multiply ourselves in ten ministry initiatives in the next ten years as God provides the right relationships, opportunities, timing, and resources.
These initiatives include: Multi-site Campus Multiplication, Strategic Partnership Multiplication, and Cross Cultural Multiplication. Our history suggests we are a people that take great risk to expand the Kingdom of God. We are simply furthering that long legacy of multiplication and expansion through the 12:24 Vision.
The Heart of the 12:24 Vision
“Very truly I tell you, unless a kernel of wheat falls to the ground and dies, it remains only a single seed. But if it dies, it produces many seeds.” John 12:24, NIV
