Grand Point Church is here for the Next Generation, and we are here for families!
Every family is different, and every child is different, but there is a place for everyone at Grand Point Church! From birth to beyond graduation, our Next Generation Department staff, volunteers, & resources are available to you as you navigate the ever-changing journey of parenting kids and teenagers.
The NextGen department consists of our Children and Youth ministries, which serve together as a team to align our strategies across all departments and campuses of Grand Point Church to maximize our investment in the next generation. Together, KidsPoint and The Point Youth Ministry strive to help children, youth, and families take Next Steps throughout their lives, to prepare them for a lifetime of following Jesus.
Our Strategy
If we could pick a color to describe our strategy for reaching the next generation, it would be orange. In our KidsPoint (K-5) and PointYM (6-12) Ministries we use the Orange Curriculum. Orange is a secondary color, created when you combine two primary colors—red and yellow. Orange is what red and yellow can do when they combine efforts. If you paint only with red, you will get what only red can do. If you paint only with yellow, you will get what only yellow can do. But when you paint with red and yellow, you’ll get new possibilities, fresh solutions, vibrant outcomes.
In addition to combining the influences of Church and Home, the Orange Strategy also combines modern child development research with the historical & spiritual truth of Biblical theology to create a comprehensive strategy for every phase of a child’s life to influence their faith from birth to beyond graduation.

Security
Safety is a priority at Grand Point Church, so we provide secure check-in for all our children’s programs (age 0-Grade 5). KidsPoint and Point YM classes and programs are all staffed by caring, compassionate adults who have undergone a criminal background check and have completed the required training for all volunteers.
NextGen Parents
Special events are planned throughout the year that are designed to encourage families with children of all ages to grow together spiritually. Parents can find information about upcoming events and what their children are currently doing and learning at KidsPoint and Point YM on our Facebook Pages.
Parents can also see Bible story videos their children have seen, other relevant content for their age group, and follow up with discussion and activities at home by using the Parent Cue App on their phone, which can be customized to the ages and phases of your own family. (parentcue.org)
In addition to the Parent Cue App, parents can follow our YouTube channels for resources to discuss with their children and youth at home: YouTube.com/KidsPointGPC & YouTube.com/ThePointYM.
Bible Quizzing
Bible quizzing is a great way for students to familiarize themselves with the Word of God. Quizzing is a competitive Bible memory program that helps students retain Biblical characters, stories, and verses, and travel to other churches, seeing how the body of Christ is interconnected across communities.
Volunteer: Serving the Next Generation
At the heart of our ministries are caring leaders who volunteer their time and passion to serve our children and youth. All volunteers have undergone our background screening requirements and participate in our leadership covenant. Training meetings are offered throughout the year to equip our teams to take their own “next steps” as we encourage young people to do the same.
