Why We Give: The Biblical Call to Generosity
At Grand Point Church, we believe that giving is not simply an obligation, but a profound act of worship and obedience to God. Our understanding of financial giving is deeply rooted in the timeless wisdom and teachings found in the Bible. We invite you to explore the biblical reasons behind why we give and how it transforms lives, impacts communities, and furthers the Kingdom of God.
A Response to God’s Generosity
The Bible reminds us that God is the ultimate giver. He has blessed us abundantly with love, grace, forgiveness, and eternal life through His Son, Jesus Christ. As recipients of His generosity, we respond by joyfully giving back to God and others. (2 Corinthians 9:7)
Partnering in God’s Work
When we give financially or with our time, we become active participants in God’s work here on earth. We support missions, outreach programs, community initiatives, and ministries that impact lives and share the life-transforming message of Jesus. Our giving allows us to be part of something greater, making an eternal difference in the lives of others. (Philippians 1:5)
Trusting God as Our Provider
As we give, we demonstrate our trust in God as our ultimate provider. Jesus encourages us not to worry about our needs, but to seek first the Kingdom of God, knowing that He will provide for us. Giving financially requires faith and reliance on God’s faithfulness. Our giving becomes an act of surrender, acknowledging that everything we have comes from Him. (Matthew 6:31-33)
Stewardship of God’s Resources
God has entrusted us with resources—time, talents, and finances—and calls us to be faithful stewards. Giving is an act of responsible stewardship, acknowledging that we are managers, not owners, of God’s blessings. We strive to use our resources wisely and generously for His purposes. (Luke 12:48)
