Serve Day 2026
In 2024 we launched our “Serve Day” initiative with the goal of sending our Grand Point Church family into the community to help as many people as possible feel seen, known, loved, and valued – not just by us, but by Jesus! Hundreds of volunteers over the last two years have gone to dozens of organizations in Greencastle, Chambersburg, and Shippensburg to serve in practical, hands-on ways…and we can’t wait to do it again this year!
We don’t just go to church—we ARE the Church.Serve Day is our opportunity to step outside the building and show our communities the love of Jesus in practical ways. Because when we follow Jesus, we serve like Jesus.
“Serve one another humbly in love.”- Galatians 5:13 (NIV)
Volunteer Needs
Each organization will need a team lead who will be responsible for:
-
- serving as the main point of contact leading up to the event for both the GPC team and the organization
- responsible for regular communication to your volunteer team
- receiving, reading, and quickly responding to email communication
- collecting & distributing necessary materials to your team
- taking photos of your team/serve day project to share with GPC
Serve Day is one of the biggest ways we live out our mission to help as many people as possible find and follow Jesus. And every project needs someone willing to go first. When you lead a Serve Day team, you’re not just organizing a project. You’re creating a moment where someone could experience the love of Jesus in a real, tangible way. This is our opportunity to love where we live.
You don’t have to have all the answers. We’ll equip you. You just need a willing heart. If you’ve ever thought, ‘I want to make a difference’—this is your moment. Step up. Lead a team. And help make space for others to encounter Jesus.
Each team will also need volunteers who are excited to:
- serve our communities
- receive, read, and respond to email communication from your team leads
- arrive on time on Saturday and stay for the entirety of the service project
- show our communities that they are seen, known, loved, and valued
Sometimes, helping as many people as possible starts with something simple, like showing up, serving, and loving people well. Galatians 5:13 is our theme verse for Serve Day 2026, and it challenges us to “Serve one another humbly in love.” That’s why we’re inviting you to love where you live.
You don’t need special skills. You don’t need experience. There’s a place for you. What might feel like a small act to you could be the moment someone experiences the love of Jesus in a real way.
Projects will be available soon!
The deadline to sign up for Serve Day is September 6, 2026 – but space at each organization is limited, so sign-up today!
